Good start...

So in my effort to be healthier, loose weight and get to half marathon running status I'm trying to stay eating good, that is my biggest vice. I can get the exercise down but not giving into temptation really is trying... I am pretty good when I'm at home since when I go to the grocery store I'm dead set on only buying the good stuff. It's only when I'm at work or invited out to eat with friends that my will power fails me. Which boy do my friends like to eat out! So any way in an effort to help with the diet area I'm half-assing the weight watchers diet. I say half-ass because I don't want to actually pay for it so I just looked it all up online lol. I looked up my age and height and all that to figure out that I have 23 points a day and get that you add more points when you exercise but I'm thinking I may just stick to the 23. You also get 35 extra per week to use all at once or add a few extra every day. And there is a good online point calculator that I'm using to add up my points. So I have been doing pretty good and it seems to be working without me being hungry much. Cooking is also not my strong suit so this is a double hard journey, learning to eat well AND how to cook! So I cooked myself a recipe that I found in The Biggest Looser cookbook for some pecan crusted chicken, also had some steamed veggies and long grain wild rice. It turned out really yummy! It wasn't' quite as "healthy" as I had hoped as it ended up being 10 points! Total calories were 473, fat 16, carbs 45 and fiber 6. But all I had during the day was a bowl of oatmeal with a glass of juice and then for lunch a tuna fish and crackers meal thingy. So I was still below my allotted points. So I guess so far I'm doin well and hopefully I can stay on track! Here is a pic of my yummy creation...
